Speaking of Amsterdam

Since I just posted about Dutch food. I'm just going to drift off and talk about my love for Amsterdam. Those who enjoy arts and culture will love the dynamic vibe of Amsterdam. People often relate to Amsterdam as sin city, where sex and drugs come into play and freedom is offered to you on a silver platter. Thats not what its all about. I feel that people who think so is missing out on the greater things the city has to offer. The Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House, and Rembrandthuis are few of the most visited museums there. But there are other hidden gems, such as Museum Geelvinck Hinlopen Huis and Museum Van Loon. Undoubtedly, it holds a great historical preservation of two of the most influential and wealthy merchant family in the 1600s. Inside you can experience and get a sense of how the wealthy lived and enjoyed the good things in life in Holland. The garden, the layout of the house, the furniture, arts and antiques collection shows its viewers the ever-changing taste of fashion and lifestyle. Another noteworthy thing to do is enjoy the Indonesian food--its a great addition to the importance in history of the Dutch colony. Head to Indrapura or Tujuh Maret for a start and enjoy their Rijstaffel menu.
