James Jean, a School of Visual Arts graduate living and working in Los Angeles has captured the attention of worldwide audience. His methodology of fabrication is impressive--drawing influences from Japanese woodblock prints, Northern Renaissance paintings and etchings, Chinese scroll paintings, Shanghai advertising posters and other vintage arts. The most-talked about gigantic installation he produced was the commission-based work he did for Prada. The wallpaper consisted of his illustrations, which in turn was made into fabrics for clothing, shoes, and bags. Regardless, it does not stop there; his journey continues as he reveals his latest collaboration with Grateful Palate, a Southern gothic wine producer. He goes for the all time vintage look. Don't know what it taste like but very cool bottle.
