These sculptures are not like any other. Korean artist Gwon Osang combines painting and sculpture to create these fantastic figures and imitation of realistic objects. More than anything, it comes as quite the opposite of serious sculptures because it is more simplified. Even so, his technique and utilization of materials still follow the basic principals of sculpture making. With modern materials and the combined use of photography and painting Gwon shows us the transition of our modern contemporary society of 'mixing media'. Its an experimentation of flat images (2D) combined with 3D explorations. His approach and presentation is what makes it attractive.
