Nihonga (Japanese Painting)

Sinichi Maruyama shows us his photography skills by going for the Japanese painting look--also known as Nihonga. Combined with a traditional Japanese stylistic approach, the pictures are made to look dated and sophisticated. What Maruyama aims for is to express the Japanese understanding of the beauty of imperfection and understated elegance.
