Each of Ji Yong Ho's recycled sculpture stand out on its own. A very interesting clash and somewhat of an oxymoron. The coarse texture of latex tires seems surprisingly well groomed and polished down. The elastic quality of the rubber appears to be rigid, hard and far from flexible. His overall concept is mutation and according to the artist, rubber, is the perfect medium to express such reference. Nevertheless, his sculptures become more alive as the texture itself substitutes for the animals' skin. Bold and beautiful.
