Fluxus is the next best thing in lighting design. My favorite designer Karim Rashid and artist Michella Vianello designed a murano glass light for Italian lighting brand, Andromeda. It's a 60 square meter piece consisted of 80,000 individual pieces of glass elements that graduate from dark (black) to light (white). The glass interlocks in a fashionable knitting manner. Looks like a sweater knit up close. Stunning, don't you think?
