Golden Girl

Influenced by her family and friends throughout her life, Nan Goldin has taken her passion for the visual aesthetics through photography. She started taking vivid, snapshot photographs that often resemble film, however, her work is often personal, spontaneous and sexual. Much of her work revolve around gender politics and encourage the viewer to become socially engaged with the photograph itself. Nevertheless, her consistent and thought-provoking nouveau was quickly recognized as a groundbreaking contribution to fine art photography.

Goldin graduated from School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston / Tufts University. She currently lives and works in New York and Paris.
