Michael Ferris Jr's latest exhibition, Figurative Sculpture and Drawings captures the very essence of his work. His immaculate attention to detail and admirable craftsmanship allows him to extend our imagination to envisioning his sculpture work as the real life models. What I find amusing about his line of work is his ability to capture the subjects physically as well as their inner emotions. The multi-patterned, highly texturized surface is composed of recyclable wood in variable sizes. The sculptures are accompanied by his beautiful renderings hung up on the gallery wall for viewers to understand his work and process. His renderings are extremely precise and he measures his subjects from head to toe in a 360 angle. Bravo.
Michael Ferris Jr.'s work will be on view at George Adams Gallery until December 30th, 2010.
