Saga-born Tokujin Yoshioka worked under Shiro Kuramata in 1987 and Issey Miyake since 1988 where his responsibilities include shop design and installation for A-POC and Issey Miyake. In 2000, he too, established his own studio, Tokujin Yoshioka Design. Outside of Japan, he has collaborated with numerous companies including Hermés, Toyota, BMW, KDDI, and Swarovski.

Tokujin Yoshioka's works are displayed as part of permanent collections in well-known museums such as Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), Centre National d'Art et Culture Georges Pompidou, Victoria and Albert Museum, Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, and Vitra Design Museum.
