Ethereal Paper Sculptures

Another magnificent take on paper sculpture and installation. Dutch artist Peter Gentenaar creates his sculptures by allowing the pulp to dry and shrink while already attached to the bamboo framework. Therefore, the sculpture slowly curls beautifully in a similar manner to those of autumn leaves.

In this specific installation, more than 100 of Gentenaar's sculptures were hung inside the Abbey church of Saint-Riquier, France. These organic paper sculptures seem to be further defined and complimented by the beautiful gothic architectural backdrop of the church.
