A Hint of Geometry and Texture Into Street Art

A Common Name is a graphic designer and artist based in Los Angeles. The artist started a new street art project, called "GEODE." Rather than taking the traditional route using traditional paint or wheat paste methods in a 2D platform, the artist utilizes paper in 3D. The finished sculptures, coming in various sizes and shapes, represent geodes, crystal, quarts or any mineral formation that you would normally fin in nature. Now, we get to see it in the cities thanks to A Common Name.

Creating various art in custom spaces, it comes off as unexpected and adds on the element of surprise and excitement into the street art culture. It may be unnoticeable at first, but if you consider yourselves to be observant, you would undoubtedly spot this. So far, the artist has created twelve and has just begun in Los Angeles.

Can't wait to see the progression as it moves closer into other cities.
